DRAINAGE LOCATING

Drainage locating is a quick fix to some drainage problems.  Trapped gas or blocked drainage tiles can be a green nightmare.  DTI can quickly locate tiles, flush outs or outfalls in 2D.  If your greens is not vented properly, gases can get trapped in the subsurface.  Once the flush out has been repaired, air can flow again into the subsurface of the green.

Flush outs can also be helpful if there is ever a blockage causing a birdbath in the subsurface of the green.  This trapped moisture will damage the green, causing water to not drain as quickly. GPR is non-destructive!

DTI can locate all of your flush outs on a 18-hole course, typically in one to two days.

The process is simple and the green can be scanned in play.  We are very aware of golfers and do our best not to disturb or disrupt play.

Once the flush out has been located using ground penetrating radar, we mark the area to be excavated.  The flush out is usually capped, as seen in the picture below.
