TURFSCAN SERVICES     DRAINAGE     LOCATING     DRAINAGE     MAPPING     IRRIGATION     MAPPING     CONTOUR     MAPPING     GPS MAPPING     MOISTURE     DETECTION		MOISTURE DETECTION Many times, something as simple as a little moisture in your root mix can cause major problems.  From turning the grass yellowish to killing the roots.  Greens were built to flush water out and trapped water gives you a headache!  Trapped water is usually the result of blocked drainage piping under your green.  Years of silt and sand getting washed into the tiles creates a backup, one that the water can't pass through.  This in turn traps moisture in the gravel and root mix, something we call a "Birdbath".  In turn, the gases created buy the rotting root mix ends up killing a larger area of your grass since gas escapes by going up. There is a simple solution!  Locate your blocked drainage, flush or vent the pipe and your grass will be back in business.  Don't have your drainage maps?  We can help.  We can find all of your drainage in 3D or we can locate one pipe at a time and find the problem areas.  Below is an example of a green with blocked drainage. Areas in white are the high moisture areas of trapped water.  The pink lines are the drainage pipes.  These pipes can be exported into a CAD file and added to any GPS file for accurate as-builts.
